Report to Community - July 2013 to June 30, 2014
Licensed in three states, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey, Child and Home Study Associates continues to provide adoption home study services, post-placement supervision services, and counseling services to couples and singles who wish to adopt both domestically and internationally. We have also completed second-parent and step-parent adoption home studies, and embryo adoptions. Child and Home Study Associates coordinates effectively with adoption placement agencies, facilitators, and adoption attorneys to insure that our reports meet agency, state, and country requirements, as well as the regulations of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. Child and Home Study Associates works cooperatively with a number of placement agencies around the United States accredited under the Hague Convention and the Council of Accreditation for Hague and Non-Hague Convention international adoptions.
Our statistics reflect the significant decrease in all international adoptions during the past few years due to various changes in all international adoption programs. Our statistics also reflect the significant decrease in domestic infant adoptions experienced by agencies and attorneys around the U.S.
For clients who are still making decisions about the type of adoption and resources with which to work, we have an active consultation service which can focus on resources and help make decisions appropriate to clients' needs. Child and Home Study Associates endorses a policy of non-discrimination.
In its 35th year of operation, Child and Home Study Associates served over 133 families. Thirty-four new home studies were completed this fiscal year. There are several families currently in the home study process. Post-placement supervision services were provided to 57 families. All of this work has involved the placement of 33 children this year as follows:
