In its thirty-fourth year of operation, Child and Home Study Associates served over 133 families. Fifty-one new home studies were completed in this fiscal year (July 2012 to June 30, 2013). There are many families in the process of home study evaluations. Post-placement supervision services were provided to 64 families. All of this work has involved the placement of 33 children this year as seen in the chart. Our statistics reflect the significant decrease in all international adoptions this past year due to various changes in international programs. Our statistics also reflect the decrease in adoptions, in general, experienced by all adoption agencies.
Licensed in three states, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania, Child and Home Study Associates continues to provide home study services, post-placement services, and counseling services to couples and singles who wish to adopt either domestically or internationally. We also do home studies for second parent adoptions and embryo adoptions. Child and Home Study Associates works closely with placing agencies and with adoption attorneys to insure that our reports meet agency and country requirements, as well as those of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service. This agency works cooperatively with many placement agencies accredited under the Hague Convention for international adoptions from Hague countries. We are proud to report that these agencies are very impressed with the quality of our home study reports, and our ability to comply with Hague regulations. For clients who are still making decisions about the type of adoption and resources with which to work, we have an active consultation service which can focus on resources and help make decisions appropriate to clients' needs. We also provide post adoption counseling services upon request. Child and Home Study Associates endorses a policy of non-discrimination.
