Opening doors for adoptions.
Who Are We? What Do We Do? How Do I Get Started?

Steps for Getting Started

The homestudy process involves the following steps:

  1. Submitting the completed application and autobiographies to Child and Home Study Associates.
  2. Attendance at the one-day educational seminar given by Child and Home Study Associates staff.
  3. Submitting all required documents (list of documents to be supplied).
  4. In-home interview with all family members present.
  5. Additional office interviews if needed to meet country or state requirements.
  6. Receipt of the required State clearances for criminal history and for child abuse. These State clearances are needed on adults over the age of 18 living in the home (forms and instructions to be supplied).

Your Adoption Home Study is then prepared and released to you and to your placing resource. The fee for the Adoption Home Study must be paid in full prior to the release of the report.

Please call us during office hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays) for further clarification and to answer your specific questions. We look forward to working with you.
